Here's what some people that have implemented the ideas in Parenting the Poorly Attached Child  and Holding Your Child's Heart have to say:

Thank you very much! Very quick shipping and delivery. We began the book tonight and so far have laughed and cried as we realized we are not alone. Thanks so much for keeping this treasure an affordable option to parents in need of some guidance and help to parent our super special kids!

I have read your book  and watched your DVD many times, and so have six of my children. Your manual is fantastic and your suggestions are working better than anything else we have tried. My fifteen year old son has healed and is thriving and is a delight to be around. He no longer pushes away love, thank- you for your help.

I received your book and DVD last week and wanted to let you know that from the first page to the last you've explained RAD so poignantly. It was as if you were living in our house. The ideas that you recommend in the book are on target. I love that you make the consequence (for misbehavior) more of MOM because he's asking for me when he misbehaves. Thank you for writing this book and not letting more children become lost souls because of RAD.

My husband and I have adopted 7 children, 3 of whom have RAD. We have read several books on RAD over the last 5 years.  Yours is the best by far!  Thank You for your dedication to seeing these children excel to their full potential.

I can't thank you enough for the help your book and DVD have given us! Using your information over the past few months has decreased the yelling and battling in our household by at least 80% and it continues to improve. My husband and I are beginning to have a personal life again instead of just a daily barrage of dealing with our son and his constant issues. So, thank you for helping us help him, but thank you, also, for helping us find time for each other again.

I just wanted to say thank-you. The book and DVD arrived safely just after Christmas. I can see that the information you have provided in your book will be extremely helpful to how we handle any future issues. It is only the early days so far, but I feel much more confident in how I can help him learn to adjust. It has also been helpful to see how we can be non-reactive and playful in dealing with issues when he is trying to push our buttons.

Once Again, thank-you

I can see this information being extremely helpful to our kids.

I purchased your book several months back.  I am struggling with a grown child with Attachment Disorder.  Even though your book focuses on school-aged children, I learned a lot from it about Attachment Disorder, and I came up with some new ideas about how to reach out to my daughter.  I approached her after a long period of no contact, and we had our best meeting in years.  We are speaking briefly on the phone now and emailing.  Thank-you for encouraging me to not give up on my grown daughter!

I got your book yesterday and finished it last night reading parts of it to my husband. We laughed because it was like you had peeked into our home and knew what we deal with.  I have often said to my husband that I feel like we are parenting a 10 year toddler.  Thank you for writing so honestly, people do not understand why we are so strict with her but they have no clue.  I really like that you gave such specific things to do for these kids.  Thanks again for the book.

Thank-you so much and God bless you for your useful book, DVD  and your wonderful work.  I am very grateful...

I am always encouraging my patients to bring in books they have found particularly useful.  I was very excited when I read your book.  It made sense in a real way, and offered real life suggestions that can be implemented.  I particularly liked your giving permission to pick and choose from your suggestions. I had a wonderful session using your book, blending it with my experience of a particular child and coming up with a game plan that is easy to remember.

Your book will be a useful resource with parents of children with "normal" attachment also as it shares a great deal of wisdom for every family.

Thank-you for sharing your insights.

Sincerely,

Jonathan was able to re-connect our family with his unique counseling- which included sessions which were alternately intense, fun, emotional, and always were sensitive to the emotional needs at the time (not easy with a pre-teen!)

During the counseling we saw our daughter turn from a child who was frightened, withdrawn, and angry to a young lady who understands her difficult early years and who now trusts her position as a "Family Kid".

Somewhere in the early stages of being an adoptive mother I was told "not to worry, love will heal all wounds".  The words rung in my head and I remember thinking 'boy, something must be wrong with me because things just aren't working, my children aren't settling in'.  As our adoption was through the State, I sought help through the state systems and for over two very difficult years, we were lost.  We struggled to find something and someone who could help fix what wasn't okay and what was progressively deteriorating as our children aged.  A long distance phone call on a chilly December day changed the course of our family... we found Jonathan Maletz!  Our 'real' journey of therapy and healing had begun.

Jonathan's skills as a therapist are amazing.  In 18 months of therapy we have always seen him as a man of integrity, compassion, and insight.  His philosophy of attachment is sound, safe and theory based.  I'm sure anyone fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with him in a clinical setting has been as richly blessed as we have been.  I HIGHLY recommend this and future books!

I am a Psychologist working in a hospital setting doing individual, group and family work.  I came across your book and DVD on the Internet, and within 24 hours of receiving it from you, have read and watched the information eagerly. I love the information I received and will apply it... I love the inclusivity of your entire family being in on the process of helping with the book and DVD!
